I was updating my free Real Player desktop app when I saw this video of the newsmakers and YouTube's top hits of the past year.

It's an interesting mashup by Ryan James Yezak (though I don't know who he is, heh). It's got everything:

Admittedly, the clips transition too quickly. You only get milliseconds of information from each headliner but it's a good record of what we've seen in 2012 from newsmakers across the globe.
