To that end, we both know your business blog will continue to figure in your online marketing strategies this 2013 (hopefully!) so I've a handful of wishes for it.
They're not exactly wishes, heh. More like To Dos to boost your business' (and blog's) authority and rankings both with your market and the search engines.
For 2013, I wish your business blog will have more of these:
1. Targeted traffic!
Of course, it's what every business blog wants - people who're looking for information that only you can provide, and people ready to buy whatever you have on offer.
2. Useful, remarkable, unique and new product/service information.
People (and search engines!) look for knowledge that will help take the pain away from whatever headaches they're having in their lives. With the proliferation of websites offering the same solutions that you're recommending, the best way to attract potential clients to your site and keep them coming again and again is one-of-a-kind advice that specifically hits their emotional hot buttons as well as nukes each one swiftly and satisfactorily.
3. A band of loyal followers and ambassadors.
The next best thing to traffic that converts to a sale is a handful or two of believers who'll willingly talk about your product or service and push it to their friends, without prompting or remuneration whatsoever. Word of mouth is the best, most reliable testimonial that convinces any potential customer or client to try what you offer…and it's the most enduring ever.
4. Commitment and consistency in building a community around your brand.
Tweeting, updating LinkedIn and Facebook status, pinning, sharing stuff on other social networking sites, responding to comments, and a 1000 and 1 Must Dos to attract blog visitors and interact with blog regulars take time. Lots of time. Sometimes, the real life world collides with your digital life, both jockeying for position in your priorities. But if you your business to keep on earning from your online efforts, you can't take time off for long periods. You can take a breather, but not much, so I'm wishing that this 2013, you have a Plan B and Plan C (and so on) in place. This way, your blog won't go silent for loooooong stretches of time.
5. Spotlight on your employees, expertise, and events.
When it comes to blogging for money, businesses have an edge over personal blogs and niche sites - you can feature employees and their expertise, improving morale and productivity in the process...and more brand ambassadors. Of course, your blog - and social media profiles – are also a great way to trumpet what your business is up to at less cost.
6. Diversity in your blog offerings.
Beyond the text post, there are videos, podcasts, links to resources, free stuff, presentations, images and a broad gamut of content that you can offer. With Panda and Penguin dogging our digital tracks fresh, unique, remarkable content will not only bring back the search engine spiders again and again, but also both regular and new visitors - potential clients all. Make sure to provide a delightful, useful, fun mix of content…which doesn't preclude personal stories either.
7. Good storytelling.
Stories draw and connect people. Include personal touches and views in new product releases, company updates, events recaps, employee focus, and everything you post on your business blog. It's wise to remember that people buy stuff from other people, not from a distant, buttoned-up company. Besides, the human touch behind a good story hits your customer's hot buttons. Since people buy emotionally you can bet they'll be more receptive to what you're offering than when you offer them cold statistics, boring news and complex reports.
Oh, and did I tell you these 7 wishes for your business blog this 2013 is what I wish for my own blog, too? You can say they're also my blog's New Year's Resolutions, heh.
This 2013, let's step up on the content providing, interacting, strategizing and earning. Have a blessed and prosperous New Year, y'all!
Happy New Year! I wish you blogging success this year - more readers, more influence, and of course more posts!
